CEJA Young Farmers Conference Explores “The Road to Sustainability in Agriculture”

The CEJA Young Farmers conference, held on May 16, 2023, brought together young farmers, experts, policymakers, and various farming projects, to explore the path to sustainability in agriculture. With a focus on empowering young farmers and promoting environmentally friendly practices, the event aimed to shape the future of farming while addressing the challenges posed by sustainability. 

The conference served as a platform to empower and engage young farmers, providing them with a voice in shaping the future of sustainable agriculture. By actively involving young farmers in the discussions, CEJA aimed to harness their unique perspectives and insights to drive meaningful change in the agricultural sector.  

The conference facilitated networking opportunities, fostering collaboration among young farmers, stakeholders, and experts. David Meredith, project coordinator, and Esther Kantu, communications officer, presented SafeHabitus to the participants, explaining the background and objectives of the project and exchange views with other projects attending the conference. The discussions were very fruitful and helped to build stronger relationships between participants and projects. 

By bringing together young farmers, experts, and projects in farming, the event provided a dynamic platform for discussions, knowledge exchange, and policy advocacy. With a focus on empowering young farmers and addressing the challenges of sustainability, the conference reaffirmed CEJA’s commitment to fostering a prosperous and environmentally conscious agricultural sector for future generations.
